Please note that at present we do not have a dedicated shower facilities or sleeping area, so if you need to grab a few hours this could be done at/under your desk. We recommend those wanting a proper nights sleep check out local hostels or hotels. With the event being in the centre of Newcastle there are plenty around.
Cancellations If you are unable to attend the event, please notify us as soon as possible. If your notification is received over 28 days prior to the start of the event, your payment will be refunded subject to a £10 administration fee per ticket. Notifications received within 28 days of the event will not be refunded unless the event is full and your place can be sold to the next person on the waiting list, in which case the £10 administration fee will still apply. Refunds will typically take up to 10 working days to process providing all of the information required is supplied in order make the transaction.
No, all sounds must be played through headphones.
We try not to have an age limit, however if you are aged 15 or under, you are required to provide a completed and signed parental consent form on arrival to the event. We would always strongly recommend that those aged 15 & under attend with an older friend or relative. Those 13 or under require a responsible person of 16 or over to accompany them (and must also be a ticket holder) If you are a parent sending your child, please ensure that they have everything they need for the event, including money for food, sleeping kit and their PC with all of its associated peripherals (if they are participating in the event). We are unable to provide these items or provide direct supervision of your child during the event, and we cannot accept responsibility for their safety. Pub Quiz contestants must be 18+
We don't mind if you want to bring a console to your desk too or game on your console instead of a PC, but if you bring both you will have to use the same monitor as your PC and we ask that you only have one system plugged in at once.
No, there is only really sufficient room and power for one monitor per person, please be considerate with monitor sizes and other equipment on your desk. The monitor you bring must be 32" or less in size.
No. You are not permitted to share any copyright or illegal material on our network. An FTP server will be available on the network for legitimate file needs such as patches, maps and mods. We will be monitoring ALL network traffic closely. If we discover any instances of excessive file sharing we will issue a warning, or in a repeat case ask the person(s) to leave the event. For games/patches/other files we will be providing a file server to help reduce internet traffic and keep transfer speeds as fast as possible.
No. We provide one Cat5E/Cat6 cable per PC, for any additional connections you must contact us first. The additional connections are only intended for items such as laptops or consoles, if you intend to bring a server to play on, then you should look at our server co-location service (it's free).
Generally yes. If we cannot verify your age then you will be given an under 18's wrist band and the bar will not serve you. You may also be required to provide ID when ordering drinks at the bar if they feel you maybe under 18. The venue operates a challenge 25 policy, so if you look under 25, expect to be asked for ID The ID is also to show that the ticket belongs to you as tickets are not transferable.
Probably not! The only items you can plug into the power network are those relating to your PC and low powered peripheral items such as phone chargers. USB Powered fans are allowed at 1 per person. These are some of the items not permitted:
  • Kettle
  • Fridge
  • Microwave
  • Hairdryer/Hair curler
  • Fan
  • Any other high power equipment.
During the summer events we may allow fans to be used, if this is the case it will be 1 fan per table (1 fan per 2 customers). If we do allow fans, we will announce this clearly on our website prior to the event.
We run a number of tournaments throughout the event depending on what our players want to play. We will announce tournaments closer to the start date. In the meantime, if you have a request for a tournament game, why not request it in the forum?
Yes! as long as we have room we are perfectly fine with tabletop games. We try to make sure we have a table or two setup for people to eat, hangout, etc. If there isn't a table ask a member of the staff and we will do our best to help you out. If you play card games, why not mention it on the forum, others might be players too!
Sure! feel free to advertise stuff for sale on the discord channel at the event
Not yet, we aim to allow everyone to sit together with their friends. We are working on this solution for future events
Yes, anyone coming into the event needs a ticket, as we are extremely limited on space. There are public areas which can be used for meeting, pick up and drop off points.


We have a mumble server available for all to use. We can investigate the possibility of hosting a Teamspeak 3 server if there is enough demand. Ventrilo servers are limited to 8 users without a licence so we generally would not be hosting a Ventrilo server
There will be many gameservers running during the event. If there is a game of which you would like a server setup for, please speak to a member of staff or raise a support ticket. We will do our best to provide servers for all games that our players want to play.
Sure! If you have your own home/clanserver that you would like us to co-locate for the duration of the event, please let us know in advance. We will arrange for the server to be stored in our staff area, and will help configure the networking/remote access for you. Note you will need to provide us with an administrative login for the duration of the event.


No, the venue premises are licensed therefore all drinks must be purchased from the bar. Anyone found to bring their own alcohol into the venue will have it confiscated and be asked to leave.
If you need to sleep, then you can sleep in the main hall, or in the indoor relaxing area. we strongly recommend using earplugs in the communal sleeping areas. Alternatively, local hotels are listed under the relevant event pages.
Yes, just keep your wristband on and you can come and go as you please.
Yes, you are welcome to take pictures or film within the event as much as you like, provided you do not plan to use anything for commercial purposes. However, if you are going to film other people we suggest you get their permission first.

Security and Equipment

You are - we do not take any responsibility for your equipment at any time during the event. You are strongly advised to take security measures such as locking your equipment to the table and not leaving small valuable items around.
Everybody at the event will be given a wristband to wear. Anyone without a wristband will not be allowed in to the venue. Staff will be on duty throughout the day and night to check wristbands.
Insurance is not provided for your equipment, you are advised to make your own insurance arrangements. Some home contents providers will extend policies to cover you at such events. Public Liability insurance is provided, but this is for people not equipment.
We may make use of our own CCTV at events for the purposes of participant safety and security, as well as that of the hosting building, and adopt the following principles:
  • CCTV is utilised in public areas of the venue to monitor events and equipment belonging Northern-LAN and its partners.
  • Any complaints regarding the use of CCTV should be reported through our normal reporting systems.
  • The system will be checked as working on a daily basis during the events by a member of the technical staff
